So you’re on a holiday in Tasmania, with a group of friends or the family, all piled into the car after a fabulous jaunt in the north or south of this fine state and think ‘I wonder where we can stay that is smack bang in the middle of Tassie, that allows us to centrally base ourselves and do fabulous day trips here and there’. Insert Raffah House – This majestic sandstone cottage has recently undergone an extensive cosmetic overhaul inside and out to convert this beautiful 1840s home into modern, contemporary 'low key luxe'.   

3 bedrooms - 2 queen beds & 2 singles perfect for the kids or it can easily be converted to an indulgent king bed (please request a king when booking). All decked out in cloud soft, french linen and luxurious pillows, doonas and toppers to ensure you have the most relaxing sleep possible (And we can personally vouch for how deliciously soft they are).    

The spacious though compact kitchen is kitted out with all the amenities to ensure you’re comfortable whilst whipping up a storm for your friends or family, like you’re in your own home. We provide a very simple pantry of muesli, olive oil, salt and pepper, black tea & coffee pods for guests.    

Netflix your thing? Or you need to catch up on some work emails? We’ve got you covered with high speed complimentary WiFi access and a smart TV.   

The main bathroom has a large double vanity, heated flooring, lavatory, generous double bath and a walk in shower, finished off beautifully with local Tasmanian made soaps, body wash, shampoo & conditioner by Lentara Grove. There is also a second separate lavatory. 

The laundry has a washer & dryer, along with washing powder you're welcome to use throughout your stay.   

Outside is a large backyard surrounded by stunning, high heritage sandstone walls - there are four large raised planter boxes assembled to provide seasonal veggies for guests to use year round in their meals, and in the warmer months a beautiful alfresco dining area with an 8 seater outdoor dining table and bbq.  

 Oatlands is centrally situated in the heart of the Southern Midlands and is the gateway to most destinations in just one hour so make it your base for your time day tripping around the island. Hobart airport is just 50 minutes and Launceston airport just 1 hour and 15 minutes.
